When the roll was called at Mary’s school, she and many other children were often missing.
They weren’t just skipping school. They were searching for water.
The only water available in Mary’s community came from a polluted swamp — cloudy, unsafe and full of disease. But when you’re thirsty, you don’t have a choice.
Children drank it anyway. And many became sick.

In Mary's community, clean water now flows where it's needed most - at the school and early learning centre.
A solar-powered system pumps water every day, so children like Mary don't have to miss class to collect it.
With multiple taps, families no longer wait for hours. And with a reserve tank, water is there whenever they need it - today and for years to come.
